Meet Garwood owner, Louise George.

Just over eight years ago, I moved to New Zealand from London, via New York, with my Kiwi husband and two children, for a change of lifestyle. Before I had my children, my career was in magazine publishing working at Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan followed by some time in contract publishing with clients such as Alfred Dunhill, Boots and Marks & Spencer so I was used to juggling projects, budgets, clients’ needs and working under pressure.

So why not open my own business?
My lifelong love of fashion and clothes resulted in Garwood, named after my paternal grandmother.

Garwood is the shop I would want to shop at. It offers a carefully curated selection of clothes from brands such as Marle, Gregory, Ricochet, Remain, Marlow, Nice Things and Father Rabbit alongside trend led basics from Assembly Label and Commoners as well as being the exclusive NZ stockist of beautiful linen from Metta Melbourne.

I hope I’ve done the hard work for you and picked pieces at all price points that will work with your existing wardrobe as well as give you inspiration to try something new.

Most importantly, I only sell things that I’d want to wear myself.

And now, six years into owning the shop it feels like the right time to dip my toe into the internet world and launch my website.

I hope you enjoy the Garwood experience.
